The EasyLan® H.D.S. system combines ease of installation and maintenance better than any other trunk cabling system on the market. Save up to 30% of the costs and 75% of the installation time when cabling your IT infrastructure. The following animation shows the neutral cost and installation time comparison of the conventional cabling with the H.D.S. trunk cabling with respect to the length determination, the installation and the measurement & documentation.

Trunk cable – Types

Fiber Optic Trunk cable

Cupper  - Trunk cable

  • LC-D, MTP®
  • 48x LC-D on 1 U
  • LED - Signaling
  • Included measuring protocols
  • Class EA ISO/IEC 500 MHz
  • 48x RJ45 - Ports on 1 U
  • 24p S/FTP Cable
  • B2ca
  • 4P PoE (up to 100 watts)
  • Included measuring protocols

Ease of installation

Plug and Play

All components of the H.D.S. system are pre-configured at the factory in accordance with the highest quality specifications and will be delivered together with clearly allocatable measuring protocols. Therefore, configurations or other dwell times are not required in the computer center. Contaminations at sensitive glass fiber connections are therefore prevented.

Climate friendly and continuous

The cable diameter using an H.D.S. - AWG23 trunk cable (fig. 1) is approx. 18 mm (AWG23, B2ca) and therefore is approx. 30% less when installed than using a conventional individual cabling (fig. 2) with approx. 8 mm (AWG23, B2ca). This reduces the air resistance and the fire load in the distributor cabinet, therefore, the air conditioning can be used optimally with respect to demand. The maximum cable length for the H.D.S. - AWG23 trunk cable is 90 m and for the H.D.S. - AWG26 trunk cable (cable diameter: 13.90 cm) it is 60 m.

Ease of maintenance

Allocation through LED signaling

Fast and clear allocation through integrated LED signaling, this clearly identifies the ports and therefore the installation times after relocations, expansions and changes are significantly reduced.

Variants

H.D.S. copper - RJ45 - patch cable

The H.D.S. system with a direct RJ45 connection provides a disentanglement of the server Ethernet connections to the connections at the network switches, especially in high density racks (e.g. IBM® iDataPlex® rack systems) The RJ45 sockets can be positioned directly at the height of the servers. This means that only short patch cables (e.g. push-pull) are required for the connection. Result: The maintainability of the network components increases significantly through better accessibility. The Ethernet cable harness is to a large extend routed inside the rack, which means that the space in traditional cabling areas is available for other cable types, e.g. InfiniBand.

Optimal bending radii and adapted lengths permit an efficient use. Networks can be separated logically and physically through the free color selection, the allocation (switch port – server port) can be freely defined. For example, ports of two switches can be placed next to each other, to achieve the 1:1 correlation to the server.

H.D.S. Kupfer - RJ45 - Keystone

The H.D.S. system with a direct RJ45 - Keystone - is especially suitable for LAN or office cabling. The breakout cables on the RJ45 - Keystone side can be adapted depending on the construction side conditions. Due to the gradation of the breakout cable side, the pre-configured RJ45 Keystones can be pulled-in safely and quickly in the false floor, etc., even in extremely tight spaces.

Characteristics

  • central transfer point of the backbone cables to flexible (3 mm) 12-fiber H.D.S. pigtails -> distributed cabinet cabling
  • better air conditioning, because splicing boxes are not required
  • very high packaging density with 336 outlets to 3 HE
